Coqui was an extraordinary case for us. She was left at the shelter to die like so many others. But as she waited a dog in the next cage managed to bite off the majority of her tail!

 

It was heartbreaking enough to see a perfectly healthy puppy on death row but to have her so badly injured and in need of medical care was devastating. After 4 days of endless calls and emails we finally reached out to the head of ACC wondering why this dog was not being released. It ended up being a case of miscommunication but it helped us develop an even better relationship with ACC in NYC.

 

Coqui couldn't care less about her tail once we got her. She is a pure puppy. All she wants to do is play in the yard, learn new tricks and get lots of belly rubs.
